30 DAY GYARU CHALLENGE

Day 01 – When did you start dressing gyaru?
I started gyaru a little before freshman year of high school. I had been studying Japanese fashions like Lolita and visual-kei and stumbled upon gyaru. I've been doing it ever since but occasionally i waiver ot other trendy fashions like mori or street fashion.

Day 02 - A picture of yourself with fifteen facts

1. I am Nigerian
2. I'm 5'2 (maybe 3)
3. I only one brand item (a DIA jacket)
4. I've been dying my hair since 8th grade.
5. I've only finished 1 kdrama but I'm half way through 2
6. I'm quiet until I get to know you, then I'm wild and weird.
7. I have a brother who is also into fashion.
8. I've wanted to be an artist since I was little.
9. I like baking because I love sweets!
10. I've been playing volleyball for 3 years
11. I have been to turkey, Kenya, Puerto Rico and I'm going to the Dominican Republic.
12. I have only been blogging and YouTubeing for a year or two.
13. This year is my 3rd Anime Boston
14. I worked at Franklin Park Zoo last summer
15. I get really freaked out when people recognize me in the street.

Day 03 – What’s your best and worst experience with non-gyarus?
My best experiences are always with girls who aren't gyaru who tell me they like my style or that they know about it. It gives me a chance to help them explore the style or learn more about it since there aren't many gyaru where I live. My worst experiences are actually with people who know me very well but know nothing of the style. In my earlier years they would always think my bottom lashes were coming off and would try to tell me how to do my makeup. I was open to criticism but I hated people telling me what to do with my face if they didn't know why. Idk I'm still weird about bottom lashes

Day 04 - A picture of a memorable night

This was my first ( and sadly my only) gyaru meet so far and it was with the gyaru girls in NYC. I have a full blog post about that here

Day 05 – What do you love and dislike about gyaru?  I love that people take so much pride in how they look and feeling great about themselves. It takes a lot to gain the skills and to suit it to your own taste and I find that some people are really good at it! The thing I don't like though is the critical judgement of people's character or when people are all up in others personal lives. The aspect of people not wanting to try as hard or critiquing someone's life choice ex. Being an av gal. I don't think that should be as important as looking and feeling good about yourself.

Day 06 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

some people might think it's sad but I'd REALLY love to do a group cosplay or make really good looking armor for a costume. It's sort of a test of my own skill to see if i can get to that point in my own art skill and improve myself as well as be surrounded by people who do the same.

Day 07 – Your favourite accessories that you own.

THIS IS SOOO HARDDDD. I dont think i have one. If anything it might be my coat but that's not really an accessory. I actually don't wear much jewelry or it changes with the style I'm wearing. I'd say my most versatile piece I have is probably my cross earrings that I have been wearing more often.

Valentine's Day gel nails set

Hey I took the liberty of doing my nails in the first time in a while! I did another Valentine's Day nail set this year using gel nails instead. These broke off so I might do another set before Valentine's day. Anyway I hope you like them as much as I do! If you have any questions about my supplies or how I got these colors just comment! Choices review: Censor shirt

Hey gals! I know I don't do many review but since I've had 3 days off due to snow, I thought I'd finally share this one. I ordered this crop top from Choices  a little while ago and it was on sale for $10!! NO WAY in Davey Jones' locker I could pass it up.

When I got it, it was nicely packaged in a resealable back which is nice to keep if you have a lot of wigs to store. Shipping time was pretty standard- week/ week and a half. Even through the holiday season which is impressive.

I really like the material used cause it ain't cheap. This feels like swim suit/ scuba material type stuff going on and it's REALLY soft. Plus the print on it is really cool. I might use it for more laid back OraOra looks and casual gear or b-gal. Overall, I really like this shop and recommend it ^.^
lol and now time for cute and crazy selfies (don't mind my chichos aka fluffy tummy)

Let's switch it up!

Hey gals, hope you have been having a good year so far! I decided that to start the year I would try more styles and make more gyaru clothing and accessories. Brand is nice but as a DIYer at heart I love making stuff. Anyway, this week I switched up my style a bit and did a really simple himekaji look. Luckily my friends help me put it together by giving me suggestions on how to wear it.

OUTFIT RUNDOWN:
Ballet ribbon
Handmade felt earrings
Fluffy star - AB
Beige Coat- Forever21
Lace heart sweater - Goodwill
Tulle skirts (black and white) - EBay
Striped knee high socks - target
Brown boots- Forever21

Here is another pic of my makeup without lenses!

Review: Kat Von D Sample Set

I got this recently and i'm in love with it! These are the sample sizes of the matte red in underage, the tattoo liner pen and the mini mascara. For 20$ from Sephora I got a good bit of stuff and it has lasted me about 2 months+ .

First I'll tell you about the eyeliner. This is as precise as you can get with eyeliner. Felt pens are usually the best for that but this one is incredicibly dark. It has a bit of sheen to it though which is a little different for me. Another thing about it is that it has to be applied sort of quickly. When you try to apply the eyeliner when it is half dry, it has a tendency to stick to the tip and pull off all your hard work.
The mascara is perfect however. Perfectly black. It is really good at separating lashes which is my look most of the time. It makes my real lashes more obvious and the look comparison pic reminds me of Satomin makeup.

Now for the lipstick... I love the color don't get me wrong but I'm not sure if I love this. The color stains, which is good in my comparison but it also bleeds. It's also SUPER DRYINGGGG. Even when I moisturize before, my lips still end up a bit flakey which kinda makes me angry even though I know matte lipsticks do that.

Overall I'd say:
Mascara- 9/10
Eyeliner- 8/10
Lipstick- 6/10

wow. I totally forgot..

I feel like a total oof! I forgot to say HAPPY NEW YEARRRR to you guys here on my blog. I've been doing a lot lately, if I'm totally honest, lots of Netflix and hanging out with those close to me and art. LOTS of art. It's been over a year and some change on this blog!

Anyway college stuff is coming to a close which is why art is taking over. I've been working on my portfolios so I will take the time to post that here as well as on my facebook. I will be making a page since I have WAYYY too many friends on facebook now for no particular reason. So yeah
